Chapter 1
Read Chapter 1
There is only the black sword and the great darkness,
Calm and placid as the endless sea,
Through which my spirit fades,
Failing on a breathless breeze,
No heart of ice may brook.
O sister,
Dear, darling sister I call your name,
Whisper in a lover’s voice,
A voice broken at last by grief.
I see you now,
Feel you course through my bones like a secret fire,
Dragging me nearer,
Nearer to the point,
Where dreams and nightmares brace the broken ramparts,
Of a hapless world.
Ado,
And green earth keeps me.
Ado night!
Ado,
And may lidless vale vex hard to find me ended.

So sad and beautiful. I am not a big fan of poetry, but I really like this.

Turin's death felt very Shakespearian to me, and I thought I'd do my best to capture his mind. I'm glad that you enjoyed the piece and that it acomplished its goal. I know I have a lot of poetry on my page, LOL, but you might also like some of my pros works- My latest is called Ashen Tears concerning The Fall of GOndolin, but I have shorter pieces as well like "Blessed Thing," about Beren and Luthien.
