The well inmidst the wood meant to be untouched by any harm of Arda Marred. Eagerly it sprang up from its
mossy cradle to meet some rays of golden light, combed and coloured by the canopy of the trees, that
surrounded it as a glorious green frame.
No stain he saw on any of the leaves, no sign of decay, as if the run of time spared this place since its creation,
born into life just from the song.
Never would he had come here, if not to flee another night of dreams about her to fall into the blue grey abyss
opening right before their feet, under the cold and merciless sky of Helcaraxe.
But right now he felt peace coming over him, like a warming cloak against the shivering cold.
The green eye of the well seemed to catch the golden light, to sparkle at him, like the eyes of his beloved had
shone in the light of Laurelin, when they confessed their feelings.
After the loss of light he found it still lingering in her eyes, when she denied to stay with her Vanyarin family,
and accompanied him against all device on this desperate march through the icy hell.
The golden green sparkling of her eyes warmed and shielded him from the dark grey forlorness of The Grinding
Ice, and never would he have reached Ennors shores, if not for her.
This short time from her fall to the first rise of the newborn sun had nearly killed him, not only of grief, but he
had to carry on, for he knew for sure,she would have wanted him to.
Watching the well, he wished he could preserve this view, thisfeeling , this moment, for he knew, the host of Tu
rgon would leave this place soon, to head for the hidden valley.
He remembered this magic moment, as he did his best of works, that was set in song, the Green Stone of
Enerdhil...
