Passing Ships by Simon J. Cook
[]The arrival and departure of ships across the Great Sea carries mythic significance for the peoples of Middle-earth. Oh my gosh! This was gorgeous!
I had tears in my eyes too, by the end.
I think fluff has to be the best thing to read, especially when it comes to the House of Finwe.
It was just heartwarming to see them all getting along and acting like families should.
Lovely. Thank you for sharing.
Oh wow, I'm so, so happy this little fluff piece touched you like that! I agree, fluff is the best thing ever and I enjoyed myself immensely writing this! Thank you so much for this amazing review! <3
Amazing fic!
Loved all the character interaction!
Happy House of Finwe family fluff is one of my favourite things to read
Aw thank you! I had a lot of fun bringing them all together in one big, happy family - and you're right, Happy House of Finwë should be an institution in itself xD thanks for the lovely comment!
This was so cute! ouo
I loved how much attention Feanor draws--he just seems like one of those people who it's impossible to ignore. The note of similarities between him and Fingolfin was an excellent detail too. It was fun seeing them all getting along for a bit TT_TT
Sympathies for Maglor at that awkward age where you're not really a kid but you're not really an adult either. And I loved how Finrod just settles down with him without asking or anything XD Maglor's reaction to Finrod inserting himself into Maglor's music is fantastic too, it's so much how I picture their relationship. Maglor is kind of annoyed but also he'll keep playing with Finrod anyway.
Turgon and Finrod's friendship always gets to me so I loved seeing it show up here <3 They're so different, but they get each other, and I love that. And being so tall at that age would feel so awkward! Impossible for him to go unnoticed XD
Just so much happiness and cuteness, exactly the kind of bittersweet fluff that makes my heart ache knowing what's coming down the pike for them. Thanks for sharing this!
Oh gosh, I'm so so sorry I missed this wonderful review! It seems I didn't receive a notification for it.
Anyway, I'm thrilled you liked it! You're absolutely right about Fëanor: he commands the audience (us and them) even when he's not trying xD I'm really happy you noticed my efforts in connecting the Finwions like I picture their friendships.
Thank you again for this amazing comment! <3
