Awakening
Read Awakening
Before, there was nothing
a grey mist of unawareness,
of unlife
Nothing, until a gentle hand
traced the outline of my face
and I knew love.
I opened my eyes and knew sight,
looking into blue eyes
and pale hair
falling around me.
I had been found
and there was life.

This is a very subtle and lovely poem. You captured the moment of crossing the line between nothingness and existence really well. I like the idea of waking up to life and love very much. Nicely done.

Thank you very much, I am glad you liked it. This poem more or less jsut popped up on the page as I was writing but I decided I liked the balance between being and unbeeing in it :)

I love the different feelings your character is experiencing here, varying between feeling enshrouded in that grey mist, to being touched with love and then the awakening. When I read this, I thought that it was Eru himself waking up one of the elves, but it was her partner. But then later I realised this could also be a young babe being brought into life by one of her parents. I also likee the balance and pacing of this poem, which gives the reader much thought to interpret their own way, if you don't know who the characters are.

:) Thank you very much. I have read a lot about the early time of the elves (I think we have had discusssions about it at some stage LOL) and I wanted to play with waking up for the first time... Imin and Iminye just suited the purpose very nicely. Thanks for the feedback
*hugs*
