This is simultaneously chilling and terribly sad, and I really love it.  Particularly this line:

A flash of lightning torn the sky thrice. The wind, the roars of the Orcs, the howls of the wolves, all ceased, and dead silence fell. And Maedhros came.

The echo of Fingolfin's challenge to Morgoth gives it a wonderful extra shiver.

Oh, wow! The only elf mentioned to have saved the life of a Dwarf? I never realized...how interesting! And more interesting still the way you've made that part of Dwarven myth.

I really like the style of this, too. "Hear this tale, and judge for yourself." It makes it seem like I'm listening to a story told around a camp fire!
