Her father had departed with sincere apologies for interrupting them ten minutes ago, but Tuor’s face was still rather red.

Idril found it both amusing and endearing.

“I don’t see why you’re so embarrassed, my love,” she sighed. “Atto is very definitely hoping for grandchildren, and he knows there’s only one way that can happen.”

“I doubt he wanted to witness it!” Tuor grumbled. “I’m never going to be able to look him in the face again.”

“Is this a mannish thing?” Idril wondered. “I’m sure Atto found the idea that we might be…amorous in our own house perfectly normal.”
