I was thinking on how we mostly hear of men leaving and so played with the idea that a lot of women (like anaire and amarie and initial earwen) were left behind, leaving a less balanced society and one where the wome suddenly had to start taking up tasks usually done by their husbands. Sort of what happened around the world during the two great wars I guess.
