Tolkien Meta Week Starts December 8!
Join us December 8-14, here and on Tumblr, as we share our thoughts, musings, rants, and headcanons about all aspects of Tolkien's world.
“Tuor, is all in readiness?”
“Yes, a place has been chosen and the workers are making preparations. It will be slow going, if we must work in secret.”
“My father would put a stop to it if he knew.”
“He does not wish to leave the city that he loves.”
“Grief binds him here. And pride. Would that my mother were here. She was wise and far-seeing, and I feel she would take our part. So too my aunt…”
“But not your cousin…?”
“Do you not recall how he spoke against you at your coming here? No. Better that the work be done slowly and in secret than not at all. My heart is heavy with foreboding. Even Gondolin cannot stand for ever against the growing Shadow in the north, no matter how much my father wishes it.”
“Do not despair, my love. We will complete the tunnel, and should disaster strike before your father can be convinced, we will be ready.”
“Only I do not know where to go when we leave. Where is there that could possibly be safe?”
“The Sea. Ever it pulls upon my heart, and I hear the waves in my dreams. We will lead our people down to the Sea, and find there our hope.”
