A blip on the radar

There is a rumour amongst Starfleet personnel. It speaks of a wooden ship sailing the sky, and a light so bright it rivals the stars.

The skies are busy these days. No longer is Eärendil’s ship the only one sailing the vast expanse of the heavens.

Now there are also man-made ships of metal, instead of wood, powered by mechanisms far beyond Eärendil’s understanding.

He does his best to avoid them, guided by Ilmarë who wraps shadows around the light of the Silmaril.

Neither of them is keen to find out what adventurous humans would do with a jewel like that.

Especially with Maglor’s whereabouts unknown.

And so Vingilot is but a blip on the radar of her space-faring siblings. Easily overlooked and easily forgotten. Just how her crew likes it.

Chapter End Notes

Crew might be a bit excessive, but I think this might be set in the same universe as Fly me to the Moon, where Arwen and the Spirit of Minas Tirith join Eärendil in the sky, so there is at least 3 people on the ship! Four if you count Ilmarë XD
