The world spins on: beyond gems and rings, beyond dragonfire and ruin, beyond the golden treasures locked in the dark. 

Now he stands again beside the pool under a sky of stars, remembering the burned. All the long years and homes deserted, battles fought, and friends hard-mourned. 

He kneels and runs his hands through clear dark water, cold as starlight, and the ripples run away under the shadow of the Mountains. 

Into the water he casts his old name and his grief. 

Now he stands, and the watchers along the banks of Mirrormere see him shine: Durin recrowned in stars.
