Written for the Around The Fire challange. Prompt:
- I'd like a story about Thingol, but not that maniac who ended up under a dwarf's axe, only a happy man, king, husband or father -- your pick. Thank you :)

The wind whispered promises
Of safety and shelter
As the nightingales sang
Throughout the hidden wood
The moss was soft to thread
And the trees were mighty
Guardian of the dark
Scent of trees around him
Soothed and embraced
Healing a weary soul
Leaving the endless journey
The crown, burdens, behind
The essence of wildness
Drew closer, welcoming
And so she stood in starlight
Alien and unsettling
Ethereal, enchanting
A creature of the woods
And time was lost
