To weave a golden crown of elanor by Failisse

Fanwork Notes

For school, I was required to write a text inspired on a book I had read. Of course, that had to be one of Tolkien's works. Any futher ideas for poems are welcome, I'd very much like to continue this poem-weaving with words!

Sonnet

Read Sonnet

Elanor from Valinor

In Valinor grew golden elanor
from Blessed Lands in Númenór she show’d,
and went to grace Lórien’s forest-floor.
In Autumn that land is gold-overflowed,
When mallorn’s leaves turn golden their green hue.
(Those leaves, not idly they fall to the ground
Where frost kills others they will stick like glue)
With elanor the Lady’s head is crowned,
Like little girls make daisy crowns to wear
Imagining their childish fairytales.
Grown older, dreamy readers braid their hair
Like Elves whom Tolkien described to details
And wear once more the forsworn coronet
Of flowers woven to a golden thread.
