Hey! I am Failissë, also known as Idhrenwen. And I may be a redhead, but do not, in any case, mistake me for a Fëanorian symphatisant. Although I am quite a fan of Nerdanel.
My experiences when I tell people I love the Silmarillion:
"What on Earth is the Silmarillion?!" That should be Middle-Earth, boy.
"Oh, yeah, that is sort of the Lord of the Rings fandom, isn't it?" No, friend, it is not.
"I started reading that, but it was all gods and stuff, not at all interesting." You should've read on, and do not insult Ilúvatar!
Oh, yeah, that one time I was crying, and my mum came into my room and frantically asked what was wrong, and I only hiccuped: "Finrod's dead." Needless to say, she didn't understand why I was crying over a fictional character.
