Long were the years in the making
Of jewels and silver and gold
Smooth rings then we created
Out of metal and strength and of stoneBlessed our work under guidance
Of an angel that came from the west
Purest of heart our intentions
To capture their essence in gold.Betrayal came in the night
Unseen by the wisest of lore
Our purest creations corrupted
By the angel that fallen from grace. The darkness fell over bright lands
And fire and shadow and death
The betrayer stole what we would not give
Our creations of silver and gold. But in the stone and strength we spun
We moulded their doom, their fate
We wrought the love of stone and gold
And unwittingly birthed the greed.Out of his hand they took their due
Wore them with pride and with grace
But his cruel mind corrupted all
Even the stonemason race.Long were the years in the making
And long were the years in regret
What seems fair is sometimes foul
Like the angel that came from the west
