Soothing sobs of nightmares, fears of dark
My heart thunders in my chest
As I close my eyes
And imagine her moving
Up and down the room
Our son cradled to her chest
Soft, when sobs has faded she will come
Floating through the darkness to me side
Soft her smiles and hands, her gentle grace
My pride and joy, my life, my love, my soul
