I enjoyed reading this story, it was beautifully written. Their relationship was soft and tender, but there’s also melancholy neither of them can avoid. Good thing that they have each other.
Thank you! They are both a little lonely, Elrond misses his brother so much and Maedhros and Maglor, too and I think a lot of people Ereinion was close to, left for Aman, when they finally could. But being with each other helps.
I think both Elrond and Gil-galad have seen some lean times before and during the War of Wrath, so they wouldn't let something to eat go to waste. They have an eye on that fish, but there are also more important things happening.
Aww! This is so tender, and so real with all the awkwardness that comes of caring so much and not being sure enough. They've both been through so much they can't not have deep empathy for each other.
Ereinion is so worried and Elrond thinks that incredibly sweet. He has sometimes wondered, if there could be something else than friendship between them, but he didn't dare to ask and he's so happy that Ereinion kissed him. Their whole world did change around them, it is so important for them that they have each other.
Elrond has worried about his decision but in the end he feels that the people he would leave behind if he sailed West (both Ereinion and Maglor) are more important to him.
