Lúthien Reborn?

Written for the There and Back Advent Challenge. 

It was his favourite story ever since he had learned it at his mother’s knee. Lúthien was his heroine; so fair, so brave and above all, so loyal to her love.

How he would like to wed such a woman, but alas, none such still dwelled in Arda.

Lost in thought, Aragorn softly sang Lúthien’s story while he wandered through the woods.

Then he saw her amid the birches, the fairest of maidens. Surely this was Lúthien herself reborn? Or was it but a dream?

Then she spoke to him and smiled.

Like Beren before him, his heart was lost
