That could have gone worse
For those of you who don't know Barhador (which is probably most of you, because he hasn't appeared in many stories yet), he is a kid Rog picks up on the way to Gondolin and takes in as an apprentice of sorts.
Barhador is trans-masc.
My starting prompt was: New kid on the block and the second prompt I used came from Starspray via hhimring's dreamwidth and was "It could have been worse."

Barhador cursed when he woke up to bloodstained sheets. He hadn’t bled in months. Lady Penlod had said that it was because of the stress his body currently was under, and that he didn’t have to worry about it, but that left him completely unprepared for this.
He didn’t know how long he sat there, but it must have been long enough for Rog to start worrying.
Rog took one look at his bloodstained sheets and Barhador’s face and kindly asked, “Would you like me to ask Lady Penlod for help?”
Barhador nodded mutely, surprised.
That could have gone worse.
Chapter End Notes
Not really relevant to this, but Penlod is Genderfluid in this universe.
Also, Rog's spouse is enby, and this is not the first time someone he cares about has woken up with a surprise period.
