This is incredibly sweet, you've painted a vivid picture of familial love.  I love that everyone is trying so hard to make this day happen for Elrond, even if they're still (understandably) a little on edge around one another.

A few minor spelling/grammar suggestions:

"the shore of Ekkaia, its foggy waves"

I would usually put the commas inside the quotation marks and not use an additional punctuation after a question mark (ie I would do "Are you alright?" Elrond asked)--I think this is more standard in written English, though I know comma placement with respect to quotation marks can sometimes be different between American and British usage.

Thank you! Everyone wants to make sure Elrond has a great day and put away their differences for a few hours.

I've changed the spelling and thank you for taking the time to explain the punctuation. I'm vaguely aware English punctuation rules are different from German ones, which I use because they were trained into me at school and happen automatically 😅.

I tend to associate fondue with family parties, too.

They also lend themselves to eating contests, a bit.

It's so nice that everyone decided to attend and behave for Elrond. And for Celebrian, I suppose, too.
