This was a wonderful story, masterfully written! I really loved the melancholic atmosphere of loss in it. Poor Finarfin is wounded, too! Finarfin is missing his son, but finding him perhaps again in/through his great-grandson. And I love stories about Finarfin in Middle-earth during the War of the Wrath in general, so this feels like it was made for me!

I like the interactions between these two and both their point of view.

They really seem to get on well, despite the circumstances being so sad and also dangerous.

Splendid descriptions, despite Nargothrond's distressing state.

Thank you 🤍

This was partially a desire to write the two kings (I love them so much) and partially my personal need to know what Nargothrond looked like.

Since I hold to the son-of-Orodreth (son-of-Angrod) I appreciate that they had experienced the loss of the same two people in a way that few others might have been able to understand, and even for being strangers to one another they at least had that shared loss to bond over.  And I think they quickly grew to both respect and love one another.
