About Me

I'm a Tolkien scholar trying out some creative writing between essays.

Primarily I'm interested in filling in the gaps of the first and second ages that Tolkien left, as opposed to the latter third age, which is very fleshed out, or the fourth age which just sort of seems depressing to me based of the few writings Tolkien has done about it. I am influenced by the movies, as evidenced by any writings I happen to do about the Third Age, but try to keep it strict Tolkien. That means, you will not see me retreading the narratives of The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings while inserting new (female) characters (that have magical powers and fall in love with Legolas). I may pull familiar characters from these books, the LOTR appendices, or the Silmarillion; but I endeavor to keep them tertiary and focus on stories that have not yet been told.
