March of the Noldor by Himring

| | |

Fanwork Notes

Inspired by Robert Frost's poem "Fire and Ice" (although taking a slightly more literal angle than that poem).
Originally written for the March of the Noldor event on Tumblr in March, although the poem moves on beyond the Crossing of the Helcaraxe.

Warning for allusions to canonical multiple deaths and cataclysms (non-graphic).

Verily, this noble work doth call to mind Ulysses, that hallowed poem of Alfred Lord Tennyson, for here too is found the yearning for adventure and the untamable spirit. Thy craft, woven with the very tapestry of language itself, doth shine most brightly. I thank thee heartily for sharing such a rare and wondrous creation. Truly, it is a treasure of words, wrought with a mastery that doth echo through the ages. Prithee, I beseech thee to cast thine eyes upon mine most recent publication.
