A remorseful Annatar wishes to live up to his name.
The fates of the lovers have been sealed. After Aegnor makes a promise to Andreth he seeks council one last time from Finrod to reveal the identity of the maiden who had stolen his heart and hopes Finrod will share in his newfound happiness. However, it does not go well between the brothers, and a heated argument unfolds, plunging even Finrods' own safety into uncertainty. Aegnor finds himself faced with an agonising choice, one that will rip his entire being asunder. Yet hope still remains, and it rests in the palm of none other than Erú Illuvatar himself who, through the sheer power of Aegnor's undying love for Andreth, has taken notice. Brace yourself once more for this gripping continuation. Where the power of love truly conquers all.
Maglor and Maedhros trade Elrond and Elros to King Gil-galad in exchange for a Silmaril, but they have miscalculated.
Maglor the mighty who like the sea with deep voice sings yet mournfully.
A drawing of an oasis in the desert at nighttime. In the centre is a "Tree of 40 Fruit" with pink leaves. To the right of it is a small hut with a yellow roof and lit up windows.
Quote: "The “Tree of 40 Fruit” is Van Aken’s creation, a single tree that can produce 40 different stone fruits, or fruit with pits, including peaches, apricots, plums, cherries and nectarines." However, why the heck can't it exist naturally (because magic/A Wizard, or maybe Vala Did It) in Beleriand/Middle-earth (or, at the very least, have been invented by someone else who's interested in hybridization. But who is it?) (https://www.cnn.com/2015/08/03/living/tree-40-fruit-sam-van-aken-feat/index.html: link to inspiration for the tree)
A drawing of a nokk, which in this case is a blue horse with green fins and a green mane and tail swimming in the ocean. It has a thought bubble near its head reading: "Fish?? I am a Nokk!" Near the bottom swims a small grey fish. In the top right is a red buoy with a seagull perched on top. The speech bubble next to it reads: "Horsefish?? Mine?" (The Nokk is responding to the seagull, or trying to.)
A brown (seemingly wooden) crate of anchovies (or other similar small, silver-y fish) lying on a bed of green kelp. Most of the fish are gone, only six or so remain. Where did they go? Who possesses this crate, if anyone? Where did they get it? Did they catch the fish? Buy them? Sell them? Steal them? It is a mystery for now...
(or until someone adopts this prompt, of course. Drawn for Scribbles & Drabbles 2024).
A minor incident during the Fall of Eregion: no, this is not about the Gwaith-i-Mirdain or Celebrimbor, it is about the Dyers' Guild. Not one for the history books, but the Eldar remember...
Mithrellas would follow Nimrodel anywhere--even across the Sundering Seas--but fate has other things in store.
A poem about the Noldor. (See Story Notes.)
The King of the Peacocks has passed away. Who will come to mourn his passing? Manwe will surely send his emissaries...

Uin ferries the Elves to Valinor because Ulmo asked. If he has to hear "are we there yet" one more time, he might just dump the lot of them off the island. Or maybe not.
a traveler meets a stranger at a crossroads.
Maedhros' horror at the burning of the ships. Inspired by a painting (see notes).
Maglor sits by the sea, and thinks about hair. A sequel to 'Strands'.
This is more than inspired by sallysavestheday's 'Rash Words and Bitter Hopes' (see notes), in which Legolas and Gimli are riding together on Arod, towards Fangorn, and poor Legolas is seriously overwrought following the encounter with Eomer. My version might have qualified for last year's Understory challenge, if only it had been Silmfic!
Beleg loves Turin. Despite everything, because of everything, forever.
Maglor's inevitably sad thoughts, with a very young Elrond asleep on his lap after a nightmare. Maedhros and young Elros are nearby.

Thranduil returns to Greenwood the Great, with a diminished army and without Oropher.
