Half a mile,
Half a yard,
Half a breath wasted,
Road the few,
Of Hador’s house,
Ere the light faded.

Shattered shields,
And sturdy steeds,
Broke beasts of war unsated,
On the field,
The bloody field,
Ere the light faded.
Hard they parted,
Parched and weary,
Embracing sleep,
None waited,
Through the eyes,
Dark eyes of death,
Ere the light faded.
