I have had this conversation between Elladan and Gil-galad in my head since writing Arda Marred. Though it is a sequel, you do not need to have read the first story to pick up this one. The first one only had Elrond mentioning Elladan's ambivalence about sailing to Gil-galad; other than this, that conversation is a wholly separate tale.
