We were all armed like call of duty
Finrod he stood in all his beauty
Facing the enemy Sauron the vile
Snarling at us in Angband style
His grim voice droned like the wheels of a hearse
His malice was pain in every verse
Finrod stood still like a silent tower
Teeth all clenched gainst the rising power
Sauron’s eyes all wreathed in flame
As his cold dead voice said what’s your namevoices clashed on every side
we closed our ears no place to hide
more sang that day than two alone
but only we were flesh and boneFinrod stood tall his voice was clear
That shining elf he had no fear
I could feel the power surge through the elf
I could see the enemy doubt himself
I could feel the rhythm of the stars own song
Coming from the voice so pure and strong
The trees all shook like flickering flame
The mountains trembled but he hid his name
The enemy's eyes went dim and faded
His face collapsed all sad and jadedvoices clashed on every side
we closed our ears no place to hide
more sang that day than two alone
but only we were flesh and boneThe flaming eyes went grey and still
Sauron stood there all pale and ill
Finrod smiled at me his fair face shining
Sauron’s dark wolves were running howling
In hoarse new tones the monster cried
I'm sorry that I have killed and lied
Finrod he shone like a fallen star
Our shadows grew sharp and black as tar
But when the bright light began to dim
I realised I could see through him
