I have not read over this part of the Silm in years, because, quite honestly, I just don't like Beren at all. That being said, I think you pulled him off quite nicely. More importantly, you captured Finrod much as I picture him; he is loyal, honorable, and, well, almost every good quality that I can think of, while still being realistic. So maybe this wasn't the kind of thing I would normally read, but I'm glad that I did, since it was written incredibly well. And your last sentence made me shiver.
