Hear the whispers of the wood!
See the smiles of starlit sky!
Those wonders I understood
The moment I opened my eyes.

Under the skies where stars roam
Lies the home of the Grey Folk,
Bound to Arda and her bones,
And paths unnumbered that I walk.

There is beauty to behold
In ageless trees that have breathed
Here since the times of old
And praised the One that made us live.

Mankind passes, swift in pace,
One mere glimpse, and they are gone.
I have all ages to face
Forever, like Earth's rock and stone.

And if our lives cross at times,
By the doings bad or good,
All will be saved in the rhymes
Within the whispers of the wood.
