Oh, this is brilliant! I had so much fun reading this tale, and also in the way it was told, by means of that letter. Did Erchirion ever tell his son the other tale, too, or even better, write it down? ;o)

When I was first directed to the Laws and Customs and read them myself, I was rather stunned and suprised. I've come since across another use of the document as a very entertaining piece of pseudo-wisdom for some elves (curiouswombat's), and loved your take on it very much. To imagine the Silvan youngsters doing this kind of mischief to each other - priceless. To have Legolas deal with it in such a way - even better. Your Legolas here is generally highly enjoyable - so sweet how he is ignorant about men's customs, and brags about his adventures with Aragorn... *g* Your twins are equally delilghtful, as is Erchirion.
