“What was it like at Lake Mithrim?” Elrond asked.
“Let’s see. It was big,” Maglor answered. “Green also.”
Elrond frowned. Elros had to giggle, recognizing the familiar pattern: Elrond relentless; Maglor withholding in an affectionate way. ‘He’s fearless and full of himself,’ Maglor often said of Elros’ incorrigible brother.
Maedhros came up behind Elros, his laugh communicating to him that he recognized the usual push and pull also. “It was paradise,” Maedhros interjected, with a grin in his voice. When Elros turned to him, he winked.
“For you maybe!” Maglor huffed. “You arrived later and had Findekáno to look after you.”
