There are those moments when, no matter how much you love him, Túrin very much ceases to be a sympathetic character.  His treatment of her is one of those times, in a huge way.  Whatever enchantment drove him to go back home did not force him to be such an ass.

And yes, the story is tragic no matter what, but to layer on a much younger Aerin just seems to be the kind of additional tragedy that would fit right in with the rest of the story :(

 

Oof you have dedicated yourself to making me feel angsty - thank you, I love it! Haha no, but seriously, I'm just using a bit of levity because the subject is so utterly painful, and Aerin is so defiant in her stance. Poor girl :(
