Inspired by the song Då Månen Sken by SKÁLD
The overlapping lines and back-and-forth feel of the lyrics, along with the general vibes of the song, put me in mind of the song battle between Sauron and Finrod.
That same overlapping back-and-forth also makes it very hard to filk without actually making the song itself rather than just offering alternate lyrics, but I hope the reader can appreciate it in their imagination.
