Fanwork Notes

Erferil is a recurring character in my Gondolin verse. You might have met her before. She will become a member of the House of Wrath. Rog is here in name, but since this is very much Erferil focused we don't learn anything about his thoughts during their flight.

Written (sequentially) for the following Orctober prompts: Dripping in the Dark, Mountain of Necessity, Impassable Forest, Labyrinth, Silent Door, Broken Place.

This was written as 6 individual ficlets, but since they have an overarching theme, I've decided to post them in one chapter.

Excuse the switch in tenses half-way, it was intentional, but doesn't work as well when the pieces are read in one go.

I really love this! And actually, your use of the tenses works really well, putting the experience of Angband in the past, while the time in the forest becomes more immediate, and then ending with an acknowledgement of future is a lovely touch. And of course I really resonate with the idea of the sea washing off not just physical dirt but the accumulated emotional grime too.
