Those Merry Young Folk

Get ready for the merry young folk, they'll soon be heading home!
As darkness falls, we'll deck the halls
And welcome all who come
To feast well and to sing well, and so happy they will be!
Let everyone join in the fun, and decorate the tree.

Now gather round, you merry young folk, it's nearly time for tea!
From snowball fight to candlelight,
Bread, butter and honey.
So feast well, and then sing well, and may gladness fill each heart!
Enjoy a scone (maybe more than one) and the finest apple tart.

Just listen to those merry young folk!
Such joyful noise they make.
From playful jest to each request
For biscuits and seed-cake.
They feast well, and then sing well - how that sound delights the ear!
Echo their song - the night is young -
And let's celebrate the year!

Chapter End Notes

Although this is most likely about hobbits, I like to think it could be about other races too - or a group of people from different races?
