OMG! I love this! I think it conjures up exactly the mood I was going for in the story. They look so relaxed and casual with one another, but still 100% sure of themselves in the way that only scions of Finwe could look--aristocratic without any self-awareness of the impression that they might make (which is how I imagine them). I love the intimacy in the way each one leans into the other without actually touching. I am glad you picked that story. I am rather fond of it myself.

It is a wonderful story - they're all so much human and so much alive, and it hurts in a good way to think of what's going to become of all their grand plans.
