As I said on AO3, I really love this! I only just noticed on this reread how you bookend the fic with images of the past in Lalwen's paintings in the beginning and an image of the future in her brief vision at the end, which is really cool. And I'm still very in love with the idea of Lalwen recording history through painting!

I like this scene, with the two sisters.

My favourite line may be: "sounding very much like their dead father and that hurt".

I also like Lalwen's thoughts about recording deeds in paint, rather than song, which we hear more about.

I think you said once that your Lalwen survives? I guess this piece is set in that verse, with that final glimpse of foresight?
