About Me
I've been reading Tolkien since high school. Came back from summer camp and all my friends were reading these funky-looking paperbacks. When they told me it was fantasy, of course I had to read. :) And I haven't stopped since. I do a re-read of The Hobbit and Lotr once a year. I was thrilled when The Silmarillion came out and then all the rest of the Chris Tolkien edited volumes. I like the Peter Jackson movies, but I don't confuse them with Tolkien. I suspect that everyone has their own "movie" in their head about how they would like Tolkien's works to look. :)
I dabble in writing Lotr fic a little, mostly poems and drabbles. I post them on my LiveJournal account at lanthirel.
Other than all that, I am a general SF&F fan. I like to read anything from traditional Regency romances to fanfic of my fave media, from good news magazines to good blogs. I love animals of all kinds, and used to ride horseback and be in Western shows. I've been on the 'Net in some fashion since the 80s, and consider myself something of a techie, software more than hardware. I like to sing and dance and sometimes play various musical instruments.
I am owned by three cats, am involved in a long-term relationship, and always hoping to write better and find more good fanfic writers to read.
