About Me

Read LotR initially when I joined a D&D club in 1982. Much later circa 1990, I made it through the Silmarillion (third attempt? who knows). I must have read LotR at least 13 times, each time deepening my appreciation and taking the time to do things like actually reading all the poems and songs. I wished I could learn Tengwar and Elvish but found it well beyond me. I graduated with a degree in Comparative Literature, and felt that I did not have a creative bone in my body when it came to writing anything but blogs or commentary. Then came the films, and then a random moment in spring of 2016 that caused me to discover the existence of fanfic. The story I read was the match to the gasoline in my brain. Within days I dreamed up a tale I thought I could write, and started. A month later I published my first story and couldn't believe anyone actually liked it. I kept going, and more importantly emerged from my isolation to meet other writers and discover the many resources online. SWG character biographies have been a cherished resource, as over time I morphed into a Silm Writer. So many stories, so little time :-)
