About Me

I am relatively new to Tolkien`s world - indeed I read The Silmarillion last year and The Lord of the Rings immediately after - yet I have fallen in love with it. Since then, I`ve read "The Children of Húrin", "Beren and Lúthien", "The Fall of Gondolin", "Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle Earth" and "The Hobbit". The imagery and amazing characters that it has, as well as its intrinsic magic and complexity only make me more impressed as I read and fill me with wonder.  

My favorite character from "The Silmarillion" is Túrin Turambar, for his story struck me as both tragic and memorable. Both his chapter and that of Beren and Lúthien were my favorite of the book when I read them and continue to inspire me.  

I have only done fanfic and frankly, I do not have talent painting or doing any other than writing. Though I delight in listening to others`podfics and appreciating the fanart and cosplay of talented people who do know how to do them.  

I love reading all sorts of stories, though I take secret pleasure in the ones that are tragic or expose new facets of characters we all love and know, not explored in depth in canon. Fanfiction I have found is a great source for that and many other topics that truly complement our understanding of Tolkien`s world, and of any world they are settled in, really.   I write mostly tragedy, which I love to read as I mentioned before, but tragedy with hope. I try to put some lightheartedness in my stories because in part in real life when faced with difficulties that is what I do: try to learn from them and latch upon the most positive side of them.   

I have an account on AO3 and fanfiction.net under the same penname - Sognante - and I have posted there stories of Game of Thrones, though I`m most active on AO3. Also, I posted recently a story that takes place on the Second Age in Númenor, with Elrond as a protagonist.    I only hope to entertain people at least a little and to take them away from their daily problems, just as many works of other lovely authors have done for me in the past when I most needed it.
