A Dream That Words Can No Longer Define by Independence1776

Fanwork Notes

The title comes from Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “What Child Is This?” I wrote pretty much everything in this ‘verse to that song on repeat, starting with RAFA’s second draft. (If I wasn’t listening to it, I used my usual writing playlist of three Enya songs.) I wanted to acknowledge it somehow, and that line fit the story perfectly.

Thanks to Elleth for the beta!

I'm glad you liked it! I… don't know what you mean by "would like to see what happens next." RAFA covers Maglor's return. If you mean Elrond's search, I have no desire to write it. The story-- and the series it's a part of-- are done. Still, I'm thrilled you like it enough to want more. Thank you!

And so it begins...

I agree with Ellynn that it would be fascinating to read more about Elrond's search and first re-encounter with Maglor. But I also understand that you want to be done with this. Congratulations on having reached a point where you can conclude RAFA...

(And should inspiration force you to write something else in that 'verse after all... well, you'd have an audience! ;))

That's exactly the response I'd hoped for!

Thank you! The first re-encounter's in "Embers" but yeah, I can see the fascination behind wanting to know how Elrond found him. It's basically him following rumors and scraps of evidence.

(Yup! I'm not entirely ruling out inspiration striking, but it's not likely.)
