Chapter 1

Read Chapter 1
By the Shores of Nevrest
Lingering lonesome
Lost in the land of the loss
Forgotten
Forsaken to the frost.
Loitering by grey shore
Shore of despair
I stare cross grim waters
Wishing my troubles be spared.
Wordlessly waiting
Wondering why
The wind blows weakness
Deep inside.
Chill breeze of fortune
Teases my laden head
Blowing the sorrow from my snow covered hair.
Death stands at night’s door
The son of life the sun
Both seek for the mastery
Of my fate I’m but a pawn now
Staring emptily
Forth in to space
The world but an ocean
My heart but a deadly weight.

Very lonesome and dark indeed!
The speaker is wandering in empty Nevrast like Tuor, but he has none of his hope! This must be set late in the First Age? It could be Hurin, maybe, at the end of his wanderings?
