Chapter 1

Read Chapter 1

Gentle dreams,
I had of you,
Broke my heart,
Bore the gloom,
Dragged me deep,
Through your hell,
Down where life,
Burns cold fell.
Dragon’s ire,
Claimed my day,
Kindled death,
And land’s decay.
Here you fly,
From my face,
To your place,
To your place.
On we stand,
Stricken far,
From the love,
He will mar,
At the close,
Of our way.
Fade to grey,
All fade to grey …
Haunted glade,
Beneath the moon,
Words of omen,
Breathe black doom.
Here you’ll find,
My grassy bed,
My body cold,
My spirit dead.
Do not mourn.
Do not weep,
For the sorrows,
And my sleep.
Cary on,
To the end.
Best the dragon,
Round the bend.
Darkened roads,
Dimly loom,
Gentle silence,
Forest room.
Here you’ll find,
Me lying long,
Humming softly,
In her song.
