That's one scary Melian.

Very effective!

Excellent short story!  I deeply appreciate your portrait of Melian and your ability to bring the reader into Elwë's head space as he wanders deeper and deeper into an enchanted (ensorceled?) forest to encounter this truly otherworldly — and frightening — being.   Then we find that it is Melian who truly has agency here, and I love this.  She is the power, and Elwë is along for the ride.  He cannot help himself, after all, being bewitched by this unearthly creature in human form.  It's perfect.

Pandë's review spelled out a lot of the things I loved about this, and I know I rambled about them to you at length, but I still wanted to leave a review spelling out my admiration for this fic. Melian is (literally!) something else here.
