this is so good! I also like your idea of mortals working along side the Host of the Valar picking up Quenya as this does better exlain its use in Númenor (althoght perhasps it was more of a cerimonial lagage like Laitin is today).  Now i want to read about Bledda and Rúth translating for one a Vanyar troop. Keep writing!

Quenya is definiting supposed to parallel Latin, especially ecclesiastical use, but that the language itself and its connection to holiness makes sense if we account for the large numbers of Vanyar elves who the Edain would be exposed to during and immediately after the War of Wrath. Plus it allows for a little bit of fun, as the variant of Quenya spoken by the Vanyar is not the same as the Noldor, and we can postulate that the common Vanyar soldier spoke an even more rustic dialect. So the Quenya that Bledda, Rúth, and their daughter learns is not the same Quenya that important texts imported from Valinor to Númenor are written in.

I've one 'Bledda w/ Vanyar troop' story written, but definitely want to write more. :)
