"“I wish I could have gone with you,” the young ellon said wistfully. “I want to explore this new land; to pass beyond the Emyn Uial and travel the lands to the east.”"

I really like how you write Elrond as a young adult. He's so curious and enthusiastic, but still recognizable as the wise lore-master he'll become.

Gildor is interesting as well! I like the story he tells about the harp. Also, his affection for Elrond is fun to read.

"Elrond’s smile was bright and clear, and Gildor treasured it all the more for knowing how rare it had been since the young ellon had been parted from his twin."

Great story!
