The Strength of Beauty

From the Skies and to the Earth
Then to the deepest places of the Sea;
Strength reflects what lies hidden deep
In both center and edges of the World.

Was there ever something more pure
Or more everlasting than what the One
with single word created? , he said,
And from imagination into reality it sprung

Forward into being, and Lo!
A Vision come true, a dream awake;
In and of itself. It moves and changes
By the strength of the unmoving and unchanging.

For nothing that is, was, or shall be
Is lacking in this one grace:
That it comes from Eru and therefore is
Beautiful and endures.

Beauty! The sole matter in this world
That is not marred from the core
And will shine and glitter and grow
In strength, and in radiance.

          - So Manwë thinks,
And in these thoughts he is not alone
For with him many others stand
Basking in what light remains
To illuminate fair Beleriand.
