I'm a big fan of stories with OCs, especially those who are not mentioned in the histories.  These OCs may be of "high" lineage or those who make society work -- the seamstress, the cobbler, the butcher such as those here.  This is a satisfying story of young lovers who are caught in a turbulent time.  I love Maraphel's voice and her determination to help Âmrazôr in the midst of a dark atmosphere of oppression.  The last scene in which he asks her to stab him is powerful stuff.  Nicely done.

Having had all the month to think about this interesting time period, I just see possibilities for writing everywhere! I'm sad the month is coming to an end; it has been too much fun to read such awesome stories every day :-)
