And so my brother,
I finally sit,
pen to paper
as the day fails.
Another war is coming
and my days grow shorter
the whisper of Mandos
is ever in my ear.So when I fail and fall
then know this,
the choices I made,
the journey to these shores,
every day spent since our fall
was worth it.
For here I found her,
mortal, ageing with each turning
of the season
and always more fair
than the nightly stars. When I am gone, brother,
as soon I will be,
know this in your heart
and be glad.
I lived my life
through sadness and horrors
but ultimately
here
I lived in love.
