Knocking on nameless doors
As soon as I was prompted this quote, I knew I needed to write about the paths of the dead and the men of the mountains, and that it needed to be poetry.
This is an attempt at bringing my idea to life.
I can honestly say I've written better poetry, but it's exam season and revisions/expansions will have to wait until I'm done with those.
Until then, enjoy this fragment.
Read Knocking on nameless doors
Stay away, stay away from the paths of the Dead,
they are not for us to walk.
That’s what they said.
He did not listen and
now his bones lie were only ghosts still tread.
So, when you go knocking on nameless doors
Be aware of the path ahead.
Chapter End Notes
I'm a bit peeved that it's 49 words and I couldn't figure out how to fit another word in to make it an even 50, but that's life *sighs*
OOOH! You are very self…
OOOH! You are very self-deprecating in your author's notes, but I really like this. It's beautifully simple and really effective.
Thank you! Reading it again…
Thank you!
Reading it again now, I feel a lot better about it. Sometimes it's just hard to shut up the little gremlins in your head
