....as a wise and practical older woman and healer, travelling to Estolad, the sorrow of Aegnor and their curtailed love in her past. That Finrod never told her about the Doom is an interesting omission on his part. She gets a lot of new information about elves' attitudes from Amrod as well. But her life is what it is, and she turns to her task. ♥️

The realisation that Finrod had said nothing about the Doom when talking to Andreth really was the starting point for this story.  It makes sense to me that Finrod would do that because he believes the Valar will relent (which they do for him) but it was still a pretty big thing to leave out.  However I also really wanted to show the other side of Andreth's life, she's respected by her own people, she hasn't forgotten Aegnor but she's not defined by him.  So I'm very glad that side worked for you.  Thanks for a lovely comment!

Such a unique and thoughtful story! I love to see Amrod (or Amras) featured as an individual. Your characterisation was interesting, and Andreth felt true to her canon self. Some really atmospheric and cinematic descriptions, also.
